Bromley Hall is a fully air-conditioned University Certified, co-ed residence hall serving the University of Illinois campus.

We offer many unique advantages for today’s college students. In addition to its prime location, Bromley Hall has the largest rooms on campus with adjoining semi-private bathrooms. Regular housekeeping service in all residents’ rooms is provided at no additional cost.

The amenities at Bromley Hall are hard to beat. Residents enjoy a large, heated, indoor swimming pool. And for those who are ready to break a sweat can enjoy our exclusive resident fitness center. Just a few of the many perks residents have living at Bromley.

Bromley Hall is the campus leader in internet technology, providing all residents with direct high-speed internet access to the University of Illinois’ network. Residents can access our free Wi-Fi network with their laptops (and a wireless card) from just about anywhere in the building.

Bromley Hall has a prime location at the corner of Third and Chalmers Street in Champaign. The center of campus and other university facilities, as well as campus town restaurants and stores, are only a short walk away. See our location page for more information.
 **Yes! Tours are available Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm, no appointment necessary. When you visit, you will be able to view our different room types and explore all of the amenities Bromley has to offer. Learn more about our tours on our Location page.
 At Bromley Hall, we understand that size matters! Our living spaces offer some of the largest room sizes on the University of Illinois campus. Single Rooms: Single room accommodations are available to those students wishing to have the most privacy. These rooms are located at the end of the hallway and share a bathroom with a standard double. Our single rooms have over 145 square feet and are some of the largest single rooms on campus. The room includes a standard twin bed, dresser, desk, desk chair, a large closet, and a mini-fridge/freezer/microwave combo unit. An Ethernet Internet connection is also included.

Standard Double Rooms: The standard double rooms in Bromley Hall offer each resident more living space than most any other double rooms on campus.  These rooms have approximately 285 square feet of living space and share a bathroom with another double, triple or quad room. These rooms include two standard twin beds, two dressers, two desks and desk chairs, two large closets, and one mini-fridge/freezer/microwave combo unit. An Ethernet Internet connection is also included.  Please note that residents requesting a standard double room type may receive a room assignment in either a standard or corner location.

Corner Standard Double Rooms: Corner standard doubles are located in corner locations and include a half wall that creates a separation between the bedroom space and the desk & closet area.  These rooms are the same size as a standard double room, and have approximately 285 square feet of living space.  They share a bathroom with either a corner deluxe double or single room.  These rooms include two standard twin beds, two dressers, two desks and desk chairs, two large closets, and one mini-fridge/freezer/microwave combo unit. An Ethernet Internet connection is also included.  Please note that residents requesting a standard double room type may receive a room assignment in either a standard or corner location. 

Deluxe Double Rooms: Bromley Hall has one deluxe double room on each floor.  This room is a triple sized room (approximately 375 square feet) that only two people share.  The deluxe double room shares a bathroom with a triple room.  These rooms include two standard twin beds, two dressers, two desks and desk chairs, three large closets, and one mini-fridge/freezer/microwave combo unit. An Ethernet Internet connection is also included. These rooms are the first types to sell out.

Corner Deluxe Double Room: Bromley Hall has one corner deluxe double room available on each floor. These rooms provide residents with a large corner room that has a half wall, dividing the room into two areas. The corner deluxe double rooms have approximately 300 square feet and share a bathroom with a standard double room. These rooms include two standard twin beds, two dressers, two desks and desk chairs, two large closets, and one mini-fridge/freezer/microwave combo unit. An Ethernet Internet connection is also included. The corner deluxe double rooms are usually one of the first types to sell out.

Triple Rooms: Bromley Hall has a limited number of rooms designed for three residents, which provide plenty of living space. Our triple rooms have approximately 375 square feet—125 square feet per student! Triple rooms share a bathroom with a double room. These rooms include three standard twin beds, three dressers, three desks and desk chairs, three large closets, and one mini-fridge/freezer/microwave combo unit. An Ethernet Internet connection is also included.

Quad Rooms: Bromley Hall has a limited number of rooms designed for four residents, which provide plenty of living space. Our quad rooms have approximately 375 square feet. These rooms are triple sized rooms that provide living space for a fourth person. Quad rooms share a bathroom with a double room. The quad room includes four standard twin beds which are bunked, four dressers, four desks and desk chairs, three large closets, and one mini-fridge/freezer/microwave combo unit. An Ethernet Internet connection is also included.

You bet! We want to make your college living experience as enjoyable as possible. If you wish to be roommates with certain people, you can complete this within our online contract portal. Bromley Hall will only honor mutual and confirmed roommate requests. The other person(s) with whom you would like to live must accept and confirm your roommate request within the portal. Room assignments are made on a first-come-first-served basis. The sooner you complete your contract and roommate requests, the more likely you are to get your room type and/or desired roommate.Please note the deadline to request a roommate/suitemate is June 15.
No, unfortunately you cannot make those requests online. However, if you have specific requests for your particular room or suitemate(s), you can email our office at info@bromleyhall.com. We will do our very best to accommodate requests, wherever possible. Please note the deadline to request a roommate/suitemate is June 15.

Yes, Bromley Hall requires the student to pay a $300 security deposit and a $100 non-refundable processing fee at the time the Addendum is signed. The $300 security deposit will be retained by the agent (Bromley Hall) until the end of the academic year. If the student fulfills all the obligations under this agreement, their security deposit will be refunded within 30 days following the expiration of the term of the contract less deductions for any damages to the agent’s personal property, furniture, furnishings, and equipment in excess of normal wear and tear, plus any unpaid financial obligations established by the agreement. The $100 processing fee will not be refunded.

Bromley Hall has a reciprocal agreement with the university, which allows residents in the University Residence Halls to transfer into Bromley Hall without any financial penalty whatsoever; similarly, we reciprocate and allow our residents to transfer into the University Residence Halls without any penalty. Our reciprocal housing agreement with the university does not apply to other privately owned housing facilities.
Article D.2. of the Room and Board Agreement outlines the circumstances and provisions under which residents may cancel their contract. Some circumstances do not require any penalty and some have financial penalties. It is very important that you read these provisions carefully so that there are no misunderstandings later.
A professional catering company, Tice Food Service, provides Bromley Hall residents some of the best food on campus. We serve three meals per day Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. Meal service begins on the first day of classes and ends on the last day of final examinations in each semester.

Meal Plans can be selected online in our Contract Portal. To change a selected Meal Plan, please contact our office directly by emailing info@bromleyhall.com. Meal Plan change requests will be accepted up until the first day of classes each semester.

There are two board plans to choose from:

The All Meals Served Plan allows a resident to enter the dining room one time at each meal offered. Meals served are breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday. A brunch and dinner are served Saturday and Sunday.

The Any Two Meals Served per Day Plan allows a resident to enter the dining room twice a day (i.e., breakfast and lunch, lunch and dinner, or breakfast and dinner).

All meals are served in our 3rd Street Commons Dining Hall, featuring a variety of micro-restaurants and to-go options. To learn more about our dining, visit our Dining page, or check out our weekly menus.

Simply put, Bromley Hall does not allow smoking, alcohol, marijuana, or illegal drugs anywhere in the building.

A number of our residents have allergies to smoke and their needs must be accommodated, so smoking is not allowed anywhere in Bromley Hall. Smoking has been determined to be a health hazard as smoking-related illnesses endanger smokers directly and non-smokers indirectly.

Because a large number of our residents are under the age of 21, we have adopted the policy that no alcoholic beverages or marijuana of any type are permitted anywhere within Bromley Hall, regardless of age.

Yes. Bromley Hall has a limited number of parking spaces available for residents. During ‘New Student Week’ residents may sign up for a lottery for the spaces that are available. Bromley Hall is so close to campus, you really do not need to bring a car. The MTD bus serving the campus and community stop within a block of Bromley Hall.
You bet! Just one of the many perks of calling Bromley Hall home. The Bromley Hall housekeeping staff will clean your room and bathroom regularly. The housekeepers will set up schedules for cleaning residents’ rooms after move in. Housekeepers do not pick up or move residents’ personal items while cleaning.
Yes. Each room in Bromley Hall is equipped with a compact All-In-One Refrigerator-Freezer/Microwave unit, which has a separate 2.9 cu. ft. refrigerator, 0.75 cu. ft. freezer, and a 600 watt, 0.6 cu. ft. microwave oven with touch pad controls. These units are specifically designed to efficiently fit in our rooms and are shared by the residents in the room.
Bromley Hall does not allow waterbeds or other liquid-filled furniture because of the excessive weight and potential for leakage. Some of our residents do bring bunk beds or “lofts” from home. The only requirement is that these beds must be free-standing and not attached to the walls and meet the requirements as outlined by the City of Champaign fire codes below:

The top of the uncompressed mattress must be a minimum of 30 inches from the ceiling above (8 foot ceilings).

The top of the uncompressed mattress must be a maximum of 72 inches from the floor.

A loft may not be larger than the length of the mattress plus frame dimension by 48 inches.

Lofts must be a minimum of 36 inches clearance between the top of the mattress of the lower bunk and the bottom of the upper bunk.

All beds must be accessible by not less than a floor to ceiling opening as wide as the long side of the loft or bed. Beds and sleeping areas must not be concealed in any way that will hinder emergency responders from locating occupants.

Combustible materials (including but not limited to: posters, curtains, paneling, etc.) may not surround or be attached to the loft. Fire resistant material that is approved by an independent testing company may be allowed.

Only listed low voltage or fluorescent lighting fixtures installed to prevent contact with bedding may be attached to a loft, as approved by the code official. Halogen fixtures of any type are not approved.

Lofts must not obstruct sprinkler heads or interfere with proper sprinkler coverage.

The minimum distance between parallel lofts/bunks must be 32 inches. A minimum 36 inches wide clear path of travel to the room door must be maintained.

Lofts and other furniture in the room must not obstruct access to or operation of windows and doors. Doors must be able to fully open. A minimum of 30 inches of clear space must be maintained in front of required egress windows.

A charge will be assigned for removal of items left behind after check out.

Yes! There is plenty of space to fit your TV.  Most residents use devices like AppleTV, Amazon Fire, Roku, gaming systems, etc. to stream programming to their TV or computers.
Yes, there are two laundry rooms in the basement of Bromley Hall with washers and dryers available for residents’ use 24 hours a day. Additionally, our laundry machines are FREE of charge for Bromley residents.
Yes, both wired and wireless internet access is available and free for residents. Every room in Bromley Hall has an Ethernet jack for residents to connect their personal computers to the internet. This is the primary, fastest connection. Additionally, residents can access the internet via Wi-Fi anywhere in Bromley Hall.
Yes. Bromley Hall is equipped with a wet fire sprinkler protection system throughout the building. There are sprinkler heads in all the residents’ rooms and public areas. The sprinkler system is tied directly into the Champaign Fire Department.

No.The mailroom does not open until the 1st day of classes, please wait to ship any packages until then.

No. Please bring your own smart TV, cable is not provided. We do have smart TV’s in the study lounges on each floor. Those TV’s are connected to the Bromley HULU account for you to enjoy!

The bed provided is a standard twin.
